On Populism

Throughout the decade, populism has become an ever-present theme. Over the course of this year, it has gained momentum. Primary examples are Brexit, Donald Trump, Marine Le Pen in France, and, as much as I hate to admit, Bernie Sanders. It’s causes are numerous. Some are racism and a misunderstanding of the philosophy and benefits of neo-liberalism. Others, however, and feelings of being left behind by the system, and intense awareness of the negatives of the neo-liberal philosophy and its negative impacts. -not done-
